What is MI Streamnet?

MI Streamnet is a free, non-commercial video hosting platform for Michigan educators, provided by the REMC Association of Michigan and hosted on the Eduvision platform. 

Who is this designed for? 

MI Streamnet is designed for anyone in the education space who wants a safe home for video content without the advertising, inappropriate content, or privacy concerns of YouTube and other commercial sites. It can be used for district/school communications, educational content for teachers, training videos, online courses, and even class work. Teachers have the ability to pre-approve any student video they wish to have uploaded on the site. 

How can educators benefit from using mi Streamnet? 

In addition to being a non-commercial platform with vetted content safe for the educational environment, MI Streamnet has some unique features that allow educators to add quizzes to videos, control access to videos, and let multiple staff members (or students) post to one moderated channel. Unlike large online platforms, personal support and training is also available from your local REMC Director, MI Streamnet project lead, and even the Eduvision development team.

How can i get started using Mi Streamnet?

MI Streamnet can be accessed here.  While anyone can create an account and view public videos on MI Streamnet, only authorized users can upload videos or have a channel.  Educators and support staff can get upload privileges by contacting their REMC director.  Find your REMC Director here.
