Q3 Online Danger! Finding Dangers with AI

6. Cyber Smart

AI Defense Mode

Awesome job, team! You’ve learned how to spot the big online dangers. Now it’s time to bring that power back to Level Up Studios. The same scams, sketchy links, and inappropriate content can sneak into our games, too.

Your next mission: design an AI model that can protect players by recognizing these threats. Make it fast, easy, and super straightforward so your game community stays safe!

Discussion Questions to think about while you are playing the video below:

  • How could AI and machine learning be used to help make communications in your video game safer?

AI: What is Machine Learning?

Step 1. Try out training a machine learning program. In this simulation, you will be creating data for a machine learning system to detect different fish and items that might not belong in the Ocean. The better data you provide the program, the better the machine learning system can sort items correctly.

  • As you go through the simulation, think about how this type of program could be used to avoid dangers in your video game.
  • Complete pages 1, 2, 3, & 4 in the simulation.
  • Visit the AI for Oceans simulation to get started.

Step 2. You are now ready to apply your knowledge of internet dangers and AI (machine learning) to help Level Up Studios train its own AI system to filter out dangerous chats in your video game.

  • You will need to train the AI/machine learning system to recognize dangerous indicators that will teach it to identify dangerous messages and prevent them from being sent in your video game.
  • Open the AI Moderator Trainee app to get started.

Step 3. After you have successfully trained the AI model to detect internet dangers, you will receive a completion certificate.

  • Add your certificate to your Player Safety and Conduct Portfolio under the Quest 3: Finding Dangers with AI section.
