Speech-to-text

With Google Docs, using the keyboard isn’t your only option to add text. You can also talk and have Google Docs transcribe the words for you.

1. Play the video to learn more about voice typing in Google Docs. Note that voice typing is only available in the Google Chrome web browser, and your computer must have a built-in or external microphone.

2. Try it out. Open your poem document or another Google document. Put your cursor on the page, open the Tools Menu, and Select Voice Typing. You may have to enable the microphone (select allow). Click on the microphone icon that appears, start dictating, and watch the words appear as you say them. Click on the microphone again to turn it off.
