Get ready to level up your tech skills! In this section, you'll explore the basics of using computers, learn important tech vocabulary, and discover how to work smarter with digital tools. There are seven Quests to complete—each one builds your confidence and helps you become a tech pro!

Begin with Quest 1 to get a quick tour of how the 21Things4Students site works. Your teacher might have you follow the Quests in order or select the ones that fit you're learning in class. Either way, you're in control of your tech journey—let’s get started!

QUEST 1: 21T4S INTRODUCTION In this Quest you will learn about the site vocabulary, the helpful student checklists, take a short technology skills survey and set some personal learning goals, the student portfolio, Awesome Index, and the 21t4s Roadmap. QUEST 2: WEB BROWSERS This Quest features skills with web browser features such as tabs, resizing, and the ability to view two windows side-by-side at the same time. QUEST 3: SCREEN CAPTURE Many of these 21things4students activities require the user to take screenshots of different things. Learn to do it two different ways, fullscreen or capture a smaller particular part of something. QUEST 4: SHORTCUTS & KEYBOARDING SKILLS Shortcuts are the hidden magic that can save you a lot of time when using computing devices. Check out the shortcuts and bonus tips for the Mac, PC, Windows, and ChromeBook. |
| QUEST 5: SAFE & SECURE Learn about AUPs (Acceptable Use Policies), suggested tips for safe passwords and usernames, and 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), which is used by many banks and businesses. QUEST 6: EMAIL Most people know about and use email, but do you know how to compose and respond to them? There are some great videos and tips to help you with this quest. QUEST 7: INTRODUCTION TO AI You may have heard a lot about AI. This Quest introduces the special vocabulary and how it is used in everyday life. Visit the AI Playground to try some out, and consider the issues about ethics and privacy. |
